For over five decades, Peter Cornelius has been one of the most successful singer-songwriters in the German-speaking world. Many of his songs have long since become part of the collective consciousness – classics like ‘Reif für die Insel’, ‘Segel im Wind’ and of course ‘Du entschuldige i kenn di’.

In 2026, the exceptional artist turns 75 and celebrates with a major tour! The frontman, singer-songwriter and lead guitarist Peter Cornelius, known for his heartfelt ballads and uptempo songs with profound lyrics, also beloved for his virtuoso guitar playing, celebrates his 75th in 2026 with a major tour. Joining him on stage is his band: bass, drums and keyboards.

Cornelius, who was born in Vienna in 1951, is one of the most influential German-language songwriters. His music is always inspired by personal experiences and social observations.

“Sometimes I write and compose whether I want to or not – reflexively. As if it were the most natural thing in the world to do.” Much of this can be heard in his songs. They are a wonderful collection of windows that have emerged over the years, allowing glimpses of a few minutes into the innermost being of the man.

In his concerts, you are taken along as a traveler and immerse yourself in the world he brings with him.

“Strange that going on tour at 75 seems more natural to me than at 40 or 50. Very early on, I had the Kinks’ song ‘I’m not like everybody else’ as my life motto – as a guiding principle.”

With every song, Cornelius gives energy, inspires courage, often makes you think, and sometimes there’s meaning between the lines, and he leads his audience there – to the nuances.

His songs are complete works of art written with his unmistakable signature. “Over the years, people have repeatedly told me that my songs are timeless. I am timeless.”
